Steri Nappy

We are thrilled to announce that Steri Nappi is available now!

Steri Nappi is Phosphate Free.
Phosphates are present in a lot of detergents, but its use has been strongly discouraged due to its impact on the environment.
If the phosphates get into our water systems, they create algae blooms and starve fish of oxygen.

Yellow stains on pillows: where they come from and what you can do about them?
Even though you change your bed linen almost daily, are there yellow stains on your pillow inner? We'll tell you what's behind it and how to remove the edges again.
Pillows that are used daily come into contact with sweat and saliva, skin flakes and oils or even sebum. Even if you change the cover daily, it is unavoidable that yellow edges will appear on the cushion surface over time. These so-called mildew stains are a sign of poor hygiene, they look unappetizing - and can spread an unpleasant odor over time. This makes it even more important to clean the pillows regularly.

How to wash yellow stains on pillows

If there are only a few yellow stains on the pillow, it is usually sufficient to clean it in the washing machine - according to the manufacturer's care instructions. For stubborn stains, on the other hand, you must bring out heavier detergent:

  • One option is to sook the affected areas in advance with a special remover overnight in a bucket  to remove deodorant- and sweat stains (Protein) before putting the pillow in the washing machine.
  • If the pillow cannot be cleaned in the washing machine, it is recommended to treat the yellow edges with a liquid detergent. Preferably in the sink with warm water or in a bucket.

Preventing mildew stains on pillows: Here's how to do it

To ensure that no or only a few stains appear on the pillow at first, you can take preventive measures:

  • Allow the pillow to ventilate well after getting up, i.e. it should not be covered by the blanket or other textiles. Vigorously shaking helps the moisture that has accumulated in the pillow overnight to escape better.
  • Use a waterproof pillow protector that is placed under the cover and prevents moisture such as sweat or saliva from entering the interior. It is also intended to reduce the typical symptoms that many allergy sufferers suffer from during sleep.
